Girls' story book with board covers and cloth spine, approximately 100pp (plus four colour plates), measuring approximately 18.6 x 25.1 x 1.7cm (7.3 x 9.9 x 0.65in). This book, with pictorial front cover showing three young mountain climbers, contains stories for girls by various authors, including "The Girl who Dared" by May Wynne and "The Camp in Cornwall" by Kathleen M. Pearcey, with some black and white illustrations together with the colour plates already mentioned. No dustjacket; the cover is discoloured and marked with fading to the back top edge and considerable age wear (especially to the edges); the frontispiece is loose, and the "This Book Belongs To" page (reverse of title page) bears the name and address of the original owner in pencil; the pages are yellowed with occasional creases and marks, and there is some waviness to the tops of the end pages.
