An original vintage calendar from 1948, measuring approximately 20.2 x 12.7cm (plus calendar tab), with a colour picture of an encounter between a coach and horses and a pack of hunting hounds, entitled "The Courtesy of the Road", printed on bevelled card. This is one of many original 1948 calendars of various designs which we have recently acquired as a job lot. These calendars are old shop stock and therefore unused, although they are not in mint condition, having been stored for many years in less-than-ideal conditions; this one therefore has slight surface wear, discoloration and marking / spotting to the picture, which has slight surface creasing to the bottom centre, together with bumping to the corners, whilst the calendar tab cover is creased and bumped. These calendars nevertheless remain reasonably presentable, and would therefore make ideal and unusual gifts for anyone celebrating their 60th birthday or anniversary this year; alternatively, they would provide an authentic finishing touch to a period room setting.
