An original vintage calendar from 1948, measuring approximately 11.5 x 17.1cm (plus calendar tab), with a colour picture of a Scottish scene with sheep in the foreground, printed on plain card. This is one of many original 1948 calendars of various designs which we have recently acquired as a job lot. These calendars are old shop stock and therefore unused, although they are not in mint condition, having been stored for many years in less-than-ideal conditions; this one therefore has very slight warping to the board, some marking and discoloration to the picture, marking to the back and to the calendar tab, and slight bumping to the corners and wear to the edges, whilst the card hanging tab is damaged with half its thickness torn away. These calendars nevertheless remain reasonably presentable, and would therefore make ideal and unusual gifts for anyone celebrating their 60th birthday or anniversary this year; alternatively, they would provide an authentic finishing touch to a period room setting.
