An original vintage calendar from 1948, measuring approximately 23.7 x 29.3cm (plus calendar tab), with a large colour glamour print portrait of an attractive young lady with a blue and yellow parrot, mounted on grey card. This is one of many original 1948 calendars of various designs which we have recently acquired as a job lot. These calendars are old shop stock and therefore unused, although they are not in mint condition, having been stored for many years in less-than-ideal conditions; this one accordingly has some marking (including some ingrained dirt) and discoloration and some warping to the card, together with very slight bumping to the edges and corners, and the picture itself has slight surface damage at the top. These calendars nevertheless remain reasonably presentable, and would therefore make ideal and unusual gifts for anyone celebrating their 60th birthday or anniversary this year; alternatively, they would provide an authentic finishing touch to a period room setting, or could be framed, without the calendars, as pictures.
