An original vintage calendar from 1948, measuring approximately 23.5 x 29cm / 9.25 x 11.4in (plus calendar tab), with a large colour print of a blonde-haired girl in a pink and white dress holding a yellow flower, mounted on cream card. This is one of many original 1948 calendars of various designs which we have acquired as a job lot. These calendars are old shop stock and therefore unused, although they are not in mint condition, having been stored for many years in less-than-ideal conditions; they will therefore have varying amounts of marking, foxing and ingrained dirt (mostly to the backs), bumping to edges and corners, warping to the card, and, in some cases, slight surface wear / damage to the picture and/or creasing to the corners. They nevertheless remain reasonably presentable, and would provide an authentic finishing touch to a period room setting, or could be framed, without the calendars, as pictures - and would make an interesting and unusual birthday gift for anyone who turns 65 in 2013! (Please note that, as we have more than one calendar of this design in stock, the calendar shown in the picture may not be the exact calendar that you will receive, and that the exact condition may therefore differ from that shown in the photo; the design to the front of the calendar tab may also differ from that shown.)
