An original vintage calendar from 1947, measuring approximately 12.4 x 16.2cm / 4.9 x 6.4in (plus calendar tab), with a colour print of a harbour scene with sailing boats, entitled "The White Sail", printed on plain card; the signature "[?] CHARPENTIER" is visible to the bottom left. This is one of a group of original 1947 calendars of various designs which we have acquired as a job lot. These calendars are old shop stock and therefore unused, although they are not in mint condition, having been stored for many years in less-than-ideal conditions. This particular calendar therefore has some ingrained dirt to the top edge of the print (and perhaps to the bottom also), with very slight edge wear and bumping to the lower corners, and may have discoloured slightly with age; there is some ingrained dirt to the back together with some discoloration to the pale blue hanging ribbon; the calendar tab cover is slightly marked with a small patch of damage including a pinhole to the top left, although the tab itself is in good condition apart from slight age discoloration.
