An original vintage calendar from 1947, measuring approximately 15 x 21.1cm (5.9 x 8.3in), with colour print of sailing boats, glued to a thin gently textured grey-buff card backing with matching calendar tab cover and printed New Year greeting, plus pale blue hanging ribbon. This is one of a group of original 1947 calendars of various designs which we have acquired as a job lot. These calendars are old shop stock and therefore unused, although they are not in mint condition, having been stored for many years in less-than-ideal conditions. This particular calendar therefore has some marking (including glue marks around the print) and discoloration to the card with very slight bumping to corners, together with some discoloration to the print; the tab is discoloured with age but is otherwise in good condition. It would neverthless provide an authentic finishing touch to a period room setting - and would make an interesting and unusual birthday gift for anyone who turns 66 in 2013!
