An original vintage calendar from 1947, measuring approximately 13.4 x 23.3cm (5.3 x 9.15in), with a colour still life print depicting a vase of flowers glued to a thin leather-effect embossed light brown card backing with matching calendar tab cover and the printed motto "May blossoms of kindness / deck your way", plus hanging ribbon. This is one of a group of original 1947 calendars of various designs which we have acquired as a job lot. These calendars are old shop stock and therefore unused, although they are not in mint condition, having been stored for many years in less-than-ideal conditions. This particular calendar therefore has some marking and discoloration to the card with some creasing, bumping to corners and glue marks around the print, and perhaps some discoloration to the print itself, whilst there is a heavy crease to the tab cover; the tab itself is discoloured with age but otherwise in good condition. It would neverthless provide an authentic finishing touch to a period room setting - and would make an interesting and unusual birthday gift for anyone who turns 66 in 2013!
