Official Programme of the Victory Celebrations, 8th June 1946 (end of Second World War)

A souvenir booklet entitled "Official Programme of the Victory Celebrations, 8th June 1946", printed and published by His Majesty's Stationery Office, 1946.  This 20-page booklet, which measures approximately 13.5 x 21.2cm (5.3 x 8.35in), includes the programme for the procession, march-past and fly-past held in London to commemorate the end of the Second World War (one year and one month after VE Day), together with lists of afternoon and evening entertainments, decorations and illuminations.  The paper is browned with age, with creasing and wear throughout especially to the outer pages, together with tearing along the fold of the outer leaf extending to the back cover, whilst there is some rust to the staples.
