Board covers with cloth spine (front cover in colour and gold, back cover advertising the "Wonder Books" series), approximately 64pp plus two colour plates (showing the White Star liner the "Majestic" and the Cunard liner the "Aquitania" respectively), measuring approximately 18.9 x 25 x 1cm (7.45 x 9.85 x 0.4in). A factual book with numerous illustrations, in which passenger liners, cargo vessels, sailing ships, lifeboats etc. are described in a series of imaginary family conversations. No dustjacket; the cover is discoloured with numerous marks and considerable age wear including numerous scratches and scuffs to the boards and bumping to the edges and corners; the reverse of the frontispiece bears an inscription in ink to the original owner; the pages are discoloured with tanning to edges and various marks together with age wear including some creases, bumping and indentations to edges and corners, and general reading wear.
