"Monster Book for Girls" (London, Dean & Son, Ltd., n.d., c.1950). Girls' story book with pictorial board covers, 124pp plus four colour plates, measuring approximately 18.9 x 25.3 x 2.1cm (7.45 x 9.95 x 0.85in). This book, with covers and spine depicting three young females with a caravan, contains ten stories for girls by various authors, including "A Song in the Sun" by Gwen Thornber and "Island Adventure" by Geoffrey Morton, with some black and white illustrations together with the colour plates already mentioned. No dustjacket; there is some wear to the cover including wear and bumping to the edges and corners and slight surface marking, whilst the spine is discoloured / faded with some splitting to edges, loss to the base and to the paper surface in places; the cover appears originally to have been laminated, as traces of clear film remain at the edges. There is some foxing (or similar pale brown marking) to the inside covers and endpapers; the front endpaper has an inscription in ink, but has since been glued to the inside cover (presumably to hide the inscription). The pages are browned with age, with edge and corner wear, some corner creases, occasional slight tearing / paper loss, and occasional marks including pencil ticks to the contents list; the frontispiece has come loose and has previously been reattached with sticky tape which has since been removed but has left its mark, whilst two of the other colour plates are partly loose.
