Meltonian white shoe cleaner in original box, c.1930s-40s (SOLD)

A boxed Meltonian white shoe cleaner block "for Canvas and Buckskin Shoes", c.1930s-40s (the cardboard has the appearance of "wartime" grade, but the printing bears no reference to war or the need to save card for salvage).  The box, which measures approximately 7 x 7 x 2.8cm (2.75 x 2.75 x 1.1in), is much discoloured (especially to the top), marked, creased and generally worn; the block itself is somewhat chipped at the edges.
