Margaret Powell, "Climbing the Stairs" (London, Peter Davies, 1969, first edition; SBN 432 11801 2).  Hardcover (dark brown cloth boards), 166pp, measuring approximately 14.4 x 22.2 x 1.9cm (5.65 x 8.75 x 0.75in).  "In this her second book Margaret Powell continues with the story of her life in domestic service as kitchen maid, cook, and charwoman.  Written in the same down-to-earth and racy style as her first book "Below Stairs," she now shares with us her experience of the world beyond the kitchen as she found it in her "time off"."  No dustjacket; there is a pair of parallel indentations to the upper edges of the boards together with slight to moderate surface wear to the covers; there is some marking to the inside covers / endpapers with a glue stain to the front endpaper; there is slight to moderate yellowing to the pages with slight tanning to the edges and some marking to the edges visible when the book is closed, although the pages are otherwise in good clean condition.
