Mackintosh's "Quality Street" commemorative tin (Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, 1977)

A Mackintosh's "Quality Street" commemorative confectionery tin (empty), measuring approximately 14.3cm (5.65in) in diameter and 7cm (2.75in) deep, produced to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, 1952-1977.  The exterior is printed with a design in white, purple, silver, red and ochre with crown and rose motifs and a large colour portrait of the Queen to the lid; the base is stamped "Mackintosh's / Quality Street".  There is some age wear to the exterior including scratching and slight loss to the printed surface and some corrosion (mainly around the circumference of the lid and to the sides of the tin), whilst there are some patches of tarnish to the base and (to a lesser extent) the interior, and there are some tiny (pinhead-sized) indentations; part of the original sticky tape seal is still attached to part of the lid edge.
