Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, "King Robert of Sicily", illustrated by Jane Willis Grey (London etc., Raphael Tuck & Sons, n.d., c.1890s).  Hardcover (greenish-blue textured cloth boards with gilt title / ornamentation to front, blue and gold marbled-effect inside covers and flyleaves, gilt page edges), 50pp, measuring approximately 22.4 x 29.6 x 1.5cm (8.8 x 11.65 x 0.6in).  A lavish edition of "The Sicilian's Tale" from "Tales of a Wayside Inn", Part First (1863), which tells how the proud ruler of the title is humbled through Divine intervention; the poem is printed on thick paper in sepia with numerous illustrations including several in full colour.  No dustjacket; the binding is somewhat weak with many pages loose (but not detached); there is some age wear to the cover including several tiny pinholes to the back cover, a patch of water / damp damage and another tiny patch of damage to the cloth of the front cover, and wear to the corners, edges and spine ends, together with various marks and some discoloration (especially to the spine); the pages are discoloured with tanning to edges and marks including foxing / spotting to some pages, a rusty paperclip mark to the front flyleaf and the number "2" in blue ballpoint to the corner of the first colour page, together with some edge and corner wear including slight tearing and creasing.
