A large c.1930s-50s vintage pottery mug by Burleigh Ware, produced for the ship-owning and operating firm of F. T. Everard & Sons Ltd. The mug, which measures approximately 10.8cm (4.25in) tall and 10.2cm (4in) in diameter excluding handle, is finished in off-white glaze with a small round company crest (printed in black with handpainted red detail) to one side incorporating the words "F. T. EVERARD & SONS LTD / LONDON" and the red and white company flag; the base bears a green printed "Burleigh Ware / BURGESS & LEIGH LTD / ESTD. 1851 / BURSLEM / ENGLAND" mark with beehive emblem, together with the impressed number "24". There is crazing to much of the surface, together with age wear including scratching and abrasion to the surface, wear and fading to the crest, and slight marking including two or three very small paint marks; there are various manufacturing imperfections including tiny spot marks and occasional small bumps in the glaze.
