A larger than average c.1930s-50s glass bowl light shade, of typically Art Deco shape, measuring approximately 29cm (11.4in) wide and 13cm (5.1in) deep. The glass is uncoloured (or perhaps slightly tinted), giving a silvery appearance, and is internally textured although externally smooth; to the exterior are two double gilt bands, somewhat worn, together with traces of further bands towards the base. Besides the usual nibbles to the edge, and a few small paint and other marks (mostly to the interior), there is unfortunately a Y-shaped internal crack (approximately 3.5 x 2cm / 1.4 x 0.8in) to one side of the base; this cannot, however, be felt externally, and does not affect the overall integrity of the shade. The original hooks, however, are rusty, and have stained the glass around them, whilst the original chains (each approximately 47cm / 18.5in long) have some corrosion and paint marks. Please note that another shade of same design, but different colour, is also available.
