A c.1950s-60s vintage West German pottery "fat lava" jug vase by Jopeko, measuring approximately 18cm (7.1in) in height (max) and 5.6cm (2.2in) in diameter at the base, in matt white glaze with purplish-brownish-black crackling to the exterior with a motif of three coloured glazed dots to each side, and shiny black glaze to the interior and base; although there are no identifying marks, this design is known to have been produced by Jopeko, closely resembling Jasba "Cortina" ware but being distinguishable from it by the coloured dots. There is slight age wear including possible discoloration to the surface and marking to the foot, whilst there may be some crazing (although, if so, it effectively forms part of the pattern); there are some minor manufacturing imperfections including tiny pinholes and occasional spots / patches of stray colour in the glaze.
