A c.1930s-50s vintage John Bull "Mend-A-Tear" (Fawn Outfit - "Mends Waterproofs & Other Garments") tin, with some original contents, by John Bull Rubber Co. Ltd., Leicester, with yellow and dark blue printed design to the hinged lid and yellow printed finish to the remainder of the exterior, measuring approximately 8.2 x 5.7 x 1.8cm (3.25 x 2.25 x 0.7in). The tin still contains two strips of brown "Mend-A-Tear" material (which appear to have been partly used), a folded "Mend-A-Tear Adhesive" strip with paper label, an instruction leaflet in its waxed paper packet, and the manufacturer's packing slip. There is moderate surface wear to the exterior of the tin including scratches and scuffs, discoloration / slight fading and slight print loss; there is slight tarnish and rust to the interior, and there is some wear and discoloration to the contents. Please note that this is sold as a collector's item only, and not for use.
