A "John Bull French Chalk Sprinkler" tin, c.1920s-30s, measuring approximately 4.5cm (1.75in) high excluding cap, and 7.4cm (2.9in) in diameter. It still contains a fair quantity of French chalk or talc, although, as the tin was designed to be refillable, it may not be original. The tin has various signs of wear including marks, patches of print loss and corrosion, and a couple of dents.
