Hardcover (red cloth boards with attractive printed pictorial design and gilt title to spine), approximately 124 pages plus colour frontispiece, measuring approximately 12.5 x 18.2 x 1.7cm (4.9 x 7.15 x 0.65in). A story for children, set on the Isle of Wight, with a religious and moral slant. There are two 2-page gaps in the sequence of page numbers, although these appear to be a publisher's error as there are no obvious gaps in the narrative or signs of pages having been lost. No dustjacket; there are various marks to the cover together with fading to the spine and age wear including bumping to the corners and wear to the surface finish; the pages are discoloured with some foxing and other marks, whilst the endpapers are somewhat tanned; the page edges, some of which are roughly cut, show some tanning with occasional small tears and creases, whilst there is some weakness to the binding although no pages are loose.
