James Hilton, "Lost Horizon" (London, Pan Books Ltd, 1947).  Softcover (with stylised Tibetan scene to front cover) 189pp, measuring approximately 11.3 x 17.8 x 1.2cm (4.45 x 7 x 0.45in).  A very early Pan paperback (Pan Books no.2) edition of the classic novel, first published in 1933, in which a group of Westerners are transported over the Himalayas to the secluded Tibetan monastery of Shangri-la.  No dustjacket; the cover is discoloured with some fading to the spine and the edges of the back cover, together with some marking, slight creasing, indentations, edge and corner wear; the title page bears the original owner's inscription in blue ink dated 1947; the pages are discoloured with browning to edges, some foxing and other marks, together with edge and corner wear and a few creases.  Overall, however, the book remains in good condition for a paperback of its vintage.
