Hardcover (two-tone brown cloth boards) with original dustjacket, 224pp including several colour illustrations, measuring approximately 16.4 x 24.1 x 2.7cm (6.45 x 9.5 x 1.05in). Originally sold in aid of the Exeter Cathedral Preservation Trust, this book, with foreword by H.R.H. The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, consists of "a selection of essays, stories, extracts from novels and poems by some of the West Country's major authors, past and present" including John Betjeman, Thomas Hardy, A. L. Rowse and Jane Austen among others, and "provides a fascinating and immensely readable view of this most varied and beautiful part of England and the inspiration it has given". The dustjacket has been price-clipped to the front inside flap, with slight to moderate wear including some indentations and bumping to edges together with slight marking in places and slight fading to the edges and fold of the rear flap, whilst there is slight edge wear and marking to the cloth cover; the pages are in good clean condition although there is slight foxing / spotting to the page edges.
