An instruction booklet for "Kay's Practical Embroiderer" (Patent No. 466488), by H. Kay, 55 St. Albans Rd, Blackpool, c.1920s.  The booklet, which contains eight pages (including paper covers) and measures approximately 13.5 x 21.3cm (5.3 x 8.4in), describes "A very simple, quick and fascinating method of embroidery which without special knowledge will enable to embroider with rapidity and economy on all fabrics", and includes diagrams and suggestions for embroidered designs including flowers, a cat, a "Gollywog" and a tulip.  The booklet is very much worn, marked, discoloured and creased with bumping and slight tearing to edges, and there is slight paper loss to the edges of the cover.
