Imitation tortoiseshell Xylonite hair brush in original box, c.1930s

A c.1930s Xylonite celluloid imitation tortoiseshell hair brush, measuring approximately 21cm (8.25in) long, in its original box, the label of which reads "XYLONITE / Regd. Trade Mark / HAIR BRUSH / 6712 SHELL / British Made from British Material".  The box, which measures approximately 24.5 x 8 x 4.6cm (9.65 x 3.15 x 1.8in), is badly damaged, stained, discoloured and marked with tears in places; the brush itself, which is marked "MADE IN ENGLAND", is in good condition apart from some light scratches and scuffs to the back, and slight wear (and perhaps discoloration) to the bristles.
