Imitation tortoiseshell celluloid pot with claw feet, c.1930s

An unusual c.1930s pot, presumably intended for dressing table use, made of celluloid in imitation of tortoiseshell, square in shape with applied claw feet, and stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND" to the base.  The pot measures approximately 10.3 x 10.3 x 6.8cm including feet but excluding the small round protrusions to each side.  The hole in the top of the pot measures approximately 3.2cm in diameter; there may originally have been a small round lid.  There are a few scratches and small marks to the surface.
