A large Huntley & Palmers biscuit tin (empty), c.1960, measuring approximately 23.3 x 22 x 12cm (9.15 x 8.65 x 4.7in), printed with a racehorse design by Bernard Wragg. An original paper label, reading "Nett Weight 2 3/4 lbs", is taped to one side of the tin below the remains of another label, whilst the base is stamped "Huntley & Palmers Ltd. Reading / Made in England". The tin has a fair amount of surface rust, especially to the base and interior (which are heavily tarnished), together with some scratches, dents, marks left by the original adhesive tape seal, and general age wear; it must also be said that the tin does not conform to modern safety standards, as it has some sharp edges and corners!
