Handbill or flyer for an ENSA concert at the Forces Centre, Salisbury, c.1943-5

An original handbill or flyer for an ENSA (Entertainments National Service Association) concert, printed in black on a sheet of white paper measuring approximately 12.75 x 20.3cm (5 x 8in), which reads as follows: "FORCES CENTRE / 2 Winchester St., Salisbury / Saturday, 29th January / 7-30p.m. / THE E.N.S.A. / ADVISORY MUSIC COUNCIL / presents / FLORA ASHE / Soprano / ROSINA VERNE / Contralto / MOLLY EDEN / 'Cellist / JEAN MERLOW / Solo Pianoforte / TOM KINBURGH / Bass Baritone / GERTRUDE RUBINSTEIN / Accompanist / ADMISSION FREE / S.P. 94159".  This flyer was found in a book of poetry dating from 1943, and thus probably dates from the latter part of the Second World War; as far as we know, none of the artists mentioned on it achieved any great measure of fame!  It is discoloured with some marking, creasing, and tanning and wear to the edges, and has been twice folded.
