A c.1960s sommerso glass ashtray, probably Murano, very typical of its era in its groovy shape and colour! It has a bright red rim, graduating towards a pale orange-tinted base (with a slightly darker spot off-centre); seen from above, there is a clear definition between the bright red and clear portions of the recesses, the latter appearing light greenish-yellow. It measures (very approximately - there is some variation) 13.5cm (5.3in) across diagonally, 10.7cm (4.2in) across horizontally, and up to 6.7cm (2.65in) tall. There are several scratches and a few small rough patches and pinprick-sized marks to the surface, together with some scratching to the foot, a few tiny fleabites to the edge of the foot, and a few tiny air bubbles. Nevertheless, this would make a great addition to a retro-style interior!
