A relatively large W. H. Goss crested china vase / urn, measuring approximately 8.9cm (3.5in) in height and 4.8cm (1.9in) in diameter at the top, with large "City of Exeter" coat of arms to one side together with gilt band to rim; the base is printed with the Goshawk mark and the description "Model of covered urn found near site of Walden Abbey in 1878", alongside painted and gilt marks and old prices in pencil. The decoration is in good condition apart from very slight wear to the gilt, although there are a few light surface scratches; there are various minor manufacturing imperfections including some spot marks in the glaze and a small semi-unglazed patch to the left of the crest, whilst a pair of vertical moulding seam lines are visible.
