A Goss crested china Manx cinerary urn, with "Falmouth" crest, dating from the early 20th century. Measuring approximately 4cm (1.55in) in height and 5.25cm (2.1in) in diameter at the top, it is marked to the base with the usual printed Goshawk stamp with "W.H.GOSS" below, a small handpainted letter or number, and the following description: "MODEL OF / CINERARY URN FOUND AT / GRETCH-VEG I.OF MAN JANY.1899 / NOW IN MUSEUM CASTLE RUSHEN / CASTLETOWN I.OF MAN / RD.NO. 599333". It unfortunately has a large brown-stained crack above and behind the crest (and affecting the crest itself slightly), besides some scratching and several tiny spot marks; in spite of this damage, it remains an interesting and appealing piece, and is offered at a correspondingly low price.
