Girls' annual with board covers and cloth spine, 191pp, measuring approximately 18.5 x 24.1 x 2.3cm (7.3 x 9.5 x 0.9in). This book, with pictorial front cover showing an Alpine village scene with a girl skiing in the foreground plus a horse-drawn sleigh carrying two girls, contains stories by various authors, including "The Secret of the Green Idol" by Betty Robins and "The Rowing Champion They Mistrusted" by Diana Morris, together with occasional features, several black and white illustrations and a colour frontispiece ("Feeding the Pigeons in London's Trafalgar Square"); the back cover is printed with a "Cocoa-Bean Cargo Race" game advertising Cadbury's Chocolate and Cocoa, whilst the inside back cover advertises the "Girls' Crystal" magazine ("3d every Friday"). No dustjacket; the cover is discoloured and marked with age wear including surface scratching and bumping to edges and corners, whilst the spine is faded with brown marks and spots; the top corner has been torn off the front endpaper and frontispiece, and the indentation (with slight roughness) left by an old pencil price since rubbed out is clearly visible to the front endpaper; the pages are discoloured with varying degrees of foxing together with occasional pen and pencil marks (including an attempt at a puzzle in pencil) and occasional slight tears to page edges.
