A framed embroidered picture of the Old Guildhall, Looe, Cornwall, dating from the 1930s or thereabouts. (According to the picture, the Old Guildhall was used as a Reading Room; it is now the Museum.) The picture, which is signed "M J", is embroidered in dark brown thread on a brown cloth background, and mounted in the original dark varnished wooden frame, which measures approximately 31 x 24.5 x 1.5cm (12.2 x 9.65 x 0.6in). The cloth has a few slight marks or stains and defects in the weave, and may have darkened or discoloured with age; there is some age wear to the frame, together with a few slight scratches to the glass. The original brown paper backing is discoloured, stained, worn, torn and creased, and the nails are rusty; the purchaser may wish to replace the old and scruffy hanging wire, although it remains intact at present.
