An early 19th century engraving of Kitley House, Devonshire ("The Seat of Edmund Pollexfen Bastard, Esq. M.P., to whom this plate is respectfully inscribed, by the Publishers"), with the names "T. Allom" and "C. Mottram" in small print at the base, perhaps taken from a book, partly hand-coloured (perhaps in fairly recent times) and mounted in a modern gilt frame with green-grey bevelled card mount and hanging cord to the back. (The house, near Plymouth, is now an hotel and restaurant; Edmund Pollexfen Bastard, 1784-1838, a British Tory politician, was Member of Parliament for Dartmouth from 1812 to 1816, and for Devonshire from 1816 to 1830.) The frame measures approximately 27.3 x 22.1 x 1.3cm (10.75 x 8.7 x 0.5in), whilst the inner aperture of the mount (i.e. the visible area of the printed sheet) measures approximately 17 x 12cm (6.7 x 4.7in); the hanging cord has a rather worn gold paper label attached, which reads: "THIS IS A GENUINE / ANTIQUARIAN PRINT / GUARANTEED / OVER 100 YEARS OLD". There is considerable age browning / discoloration to the engraving, whilst there is slight wear together with some marking and possible discoloration to the frame; there are a few scratches to the glass, which has some spotting to the inside surface.
