An unopened pack of Waddingtons standard-size playing cards, advertising "Fenner Taper-Lock Bushes and Pulleys", 1950s. The original box, which measures approximately 6.1 x 9.3 x 1.9cm (2.4 x 3.65 x 0.75in), has a sample card glued to one side, the other side being printed "With the compliments of / J. H. Fenner & Co. Ltd. / Hull, Yorkshire"; the cards themselves remain sealed in the original unopened Waddingtons tax wrapper (which indicates a date of pre-1960, since the Excise duty on playing cards was repealed in that year). The box is creased to one side, with slight tearing to edges and moderate discoloration and marking, and has a small piece of yellowed sticky tape attached to each end, the surface of the box being damaged where one of the pieces of tape has peeled; the tax wrapper, and the cards themselves, are in good condition.
