First published in 1922, this novel describes the experiences of three young men who are sent to fight in the First World War. No dustjacket; there is slight marking and discoloration to the cover with wear and bumping to edges and corners together with other slight wear; the front endpaper is missing, whilst the pages (which are printed on wartime paper with many fibres visible) are slightly discoloured with marking to edges, other occasional marks and slight edge and corner wear; one page has an old rusty hairpin attached at the top near the spine, resulting in rust marks to several adjacent pages and slight disintegration / tearing around the pin to one or two (not affecting the text, except for some tiny rust spots on two pages).
