An "H.M. King Edward VIII Coronation 1937" enamel / white metal pin badge, produced c.1936 in anticipation of the Coronation which never took place. Measuring approximately 2.4cm (0.95in) in diameter, it is stamped "STRATTON / BIRMINGHAM" to the reverse. The enamel is in good condition, although there is some wear, marking and tarnishing, and a few patches of verdigris, to the base metal. The pin is intact although slightly bent near the hinge, as is the hinge itself; the loop for holding the end of the pin is bent at an angle of about 45 degrees, so does not admit the end of the pin at present.
