Mrs. E. W. Kirk, "Tried Favourites Cookery Book, with Household Hints and other Useful Information.  Twenty-third and Enlarged Edition, Six Hundred and Forty-sixth Thousand" (Edinburgh, J. B. Fairgrieve & Co. / London, Horace Marshall & Son, 1934).  Hardcover (blue cloth boards), 314pp plus introductory, contents and advertisement pages, measuring approximately 14.2 x 21.3 x 2cm (5.6 x 8.4 x 0.8in).  A large collection of classic recipes, intended for use in the average household.  The inside covers are printed with various "Personal and Press Opinions" in favour of the book, and there are also a small number of advertisements including Nestle's Ideal Milk, Ovaltine and A. Stevenson & Co.'s "Hot Cross" Boiler.  No dustjacket; the cover has some age wear, marking and discoloration, the spine being faded / discoloured with slight loss to the cloth at the top and bottom; the pages are discoloured with some browning to edges and foxing to endpapers, slight damp staining to some pages at the bottom corners adjoining the binding and other occasional marks, some waviness to the paper adjacent to the binding, some creasing and the occasional small tear.
