An appealing children's book, published in anticipation of the return of Halley's Comet in 1986, in which the author and illustrator "tell us why it's worth the wait. Combining solid facts with imaginative comparisons and stunning artwork, the Krupps expertly consider all aspects of the comet - its composition, orbit, and its place in the solar system and in history." This copy is signed by both author and illustrator, with delightful dedications to the original owner (Caroline M. White), in silver ink to the front flyleaf. The dustjacket has some discoloration and slight marking, scratches, scuffs, creases, indentations and pressure marks (including some from use as a writing surface), bumping and slight tearing to the edges, and some foxing to the inside; the cover has some surface wear including scratches, scuffs and slight indentations, and some fading / discoloration and wear to edges including bumping to the lower edge; there is slight discoloration and reading wear to the pages, with figures in pink felt tip added to one page.
