A silver-plated cake server, measuring approximately 25.8cm (10.15in) in length and 5.4cm (2.15in) wide, produced to commemorate the Coronation of King George VI in 1937. The blade is pierced with a pattern of decorative holes; the upper side of the handle is Art Deco in style, whilst the underside bears a coat of arms with the words "CORONATION / 1937" below, together with the words "DORCHESTER PLATE". Although there is considerable age wear and scratching to the surface, this remains an interesting and usable piece of vintage cutlery.
