A 1950s Crown Devon advertising dish with gilt rim, transfer-printed in black with a depiction of the Hayfield Wools factory. Typical of its era in its design and its "TV screen" shape, it measures approximately 18 x 13.1cm (max). The underside is stamped "1423", and is marked in black with the Crown Devon mark together with the words "Sole agents / The Acme Showcard & Sign Co. Ltd. / Enfield Middlesex". There is moderate wear to the gilt rim, and some wear / damage to the transfer, together with some scratching to the surface; there are also two or three very tiny nibbles (probably dating from manufacture) to the upper surface edge and to the foot, and two or three small unglazed patches to the underside.
