A Craven "A" Virginia Cigarettes tin (empty) with hinged lid, by Carreras Limited, c.1930s, measuring approximately 14.8 x 11.2 x 1.7cm (5.85 x 4.4 x 0.65in), which originally held fifty cork-tipped cigarettes; the lid features the black cat trademark, and the inside lid is printed with a brief description of the nature of the cigarettes ("Made specially to prevent sore throats"!) and the manufacturer's address. There is some age wear including tarnish, scratching, patches of print loss and a few small dents / dings; the interior is much tarnished with a few small rust spots.
