description

A small plastic plaque with orange-gold metallic finish, produced as a souvenir of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (June 2nd, 1953), moulded as a representation of the Gold State Coach (as used in the Coronation processions) with the words "ELIZABETH R. 1953 / CORONATION" beneath; it has two fixing lugs or pegs to the base, which indicate that it was intended to be attached to another object, or perhaps to be used as a cake decoration.  The plaque, which measures approximately 8 x 6 x 0.3cm / 3.15 x 2.35 x 0.1in (max, including lugs), has some surface wear including slight surface chipping to one of the lugs and slight loss to the metallic finish.
