A Wedgwood Royal Blue Jasper ware commemorative ashtray, produced to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (June 2nd, 1953), measuring approximately 11.1cm (4.35in) in diameter and 1.7cm (0.65in) deep (max), with applied moulded decoration featuring the Royal cipher; the base bears the blue printed mark "1953 / WEDGWOOD / ROYAL BLUE JASPER / MADE IN ENGLAND / LIMITED EDITION" and the impressed mark "WEDGWOOD / MADE IN / ENGLAND" together with impressed numbers. There is a small chip or nibble (about 0.2cm / 0.1in long) to the upper edge, together with age wear including various marks to the surface; there are some imperfections to the applied decoration, whilst the main body has a couple of small lumps near the upper edge together with other minor imperfections.
