A commemorative pottery beaker, in off-white glaze with colour transfer decoration, measuring approximately 10.5cm (4.15in) in height and 8.1cm (3.2in) in diameter at the top, produced to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, June 2nd, 1953.  The decoration is of standard design with the addition of the Plymouth coat of arms, below which are the words "CITY OF PLYMOUTH / ALD.SIR CLIFFORD TOZER,J.P. / LORD MAYOR"; the base is marked with the colour transfer "OFFICIAL DESIGN / BRITISH POTTERY MANUFACTURERS FEDERATION / REGD. NOS. 798761-4" Union Jack and garter mark together with a small blue painted mark.  The surface is crazed throughout with a light brown stain to the top right of the main transfer together with other marks including spots in the glaze, whilst there are a few surface scratches together with some wear to the transfers; there are some minor manufacturing imperfections in the moulding, plus some manufacturing roughness and marking to the foot.
