A commemorative ceramic mug (probably china, although too thick to be translucent), measuring approximately 8.1cm (3.2in) in height and 7.8cm (3.05in) in diameter at the base, produced to mark the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary on June 22, 1911, in white with colour transfer incorporating twin portraits to one side and colour floral transfer to the other, gilt rim and gilt trim to the handle; there are no maker's marks. There is some age wear including scratching to the surface, with a nibble to the rim and age marking to the foot; the main transfer is in good condition although the floral transfer appears somewhat worn, and there is slight to moderate wear to the gilt; there are some minor manufacturing imperfections including tiny spot marks and lumps in the glaze, whilst the base is roughly finished compared to the rest of the surface.
