A commemorative pottery mug, in off-white glaze with colour transfer to one side and thin blue band to rim, measuring approximately 8.8cm (3.45in) in height and 7.2cm (2.85in) in diameter at the top, produced in anticipation of the Coronation of King Edward VIII on 12 May 1937 (which did not take place owing to his abdication); there are no maker's marks. The date is somewhat blurred; there is slight wear to the decoration, together with several scratches and slight marks to the surface; there is some manufacturing roughness and marking to the foot.
