Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra commemorative ceramic mug, 1902

A commemorative ceramic mug, produced to mark the Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra on June 26, 1902, measuring approximately 8.1cm (3.2in) in height and 8.2cm (3.25in) in diameter at the top (excluding handle), in off-white glaze with a large colour transfer (featuring twin portraits of the King and Queen) plus gilt rim and handle trim; there are no maker's marks.  The surface is finely crazed throughout with light staining in places, and there may be a short vertical hairline crack at the top (joining up with the crazing), together with age wear including scratching and abrasion to the surface, wear to the gilt, and considerable wear / imperfections to the transfers; there are numerous manufacturing imperfections including small bumps and spot marks in the glaze.
