A collection of twelve large glass Christmas tree decorations / baubles (8 silver, 2 gold, 1 blue and 1 peach), varying in size but generally about 5.7cm (2.25in) in diameter. Most appear to be of c.1950s-60s vintage, although one of the silver baubles has a clear plastic cap and is thus likely to be 1970s or early 1980s, and the peach one, which is slightly larger than the rest, is more recent still, having been bought new about twelve years ago to fill a gap in the box (which is somewhat tatty and lidless). The bauble with the plastic cap has a small white printed or stencilled candle design, whilst one of the other silver baubles has a rather worn white painted design. Three of the metal caps are stamped "WEST GERMANY", and the plastic cap is similarly marked. Five of the silver baubles have varying amounts of dripped wax to the surface, which shows that they have at some stage been used upon a tree lit by candles. There are varying amounts of wear to the silvering and painted surfaces (even to the peach bauble), surface marking and rust to caps, some of which are somewhat loose.
