A Royal Staffordshire Pottery (A. J. Wilkinson Ltd.) ornamental preserve pot (without its lid), c.1930s-50s, in the "Fruit and Basket" pattern designed by Clarice Cliff, in cream glaze with handpainted decoration, measuring approximately 8.8cm (3.45in) in height and 7.7cm (3.05in) in diameter at the base, which is marked with the green printed Royal Staffordshire / A. J. Wilkinson shield and crown stamp together with a small green painted "x", and is moulded with the number "936".  The surface is crazed throughout with some age wear including scratching and spots of abrasion, and there is considerable brown staining to the interior together with some marking to the foot, whilst there is a large nibble or tiny chip to the rim together with a small shallow chip to the foot; there are numerous tiny specks and other minor imperfections in the glaze.
